Well, okay, it’s not actually a trumpet (which is what we originally thought) – it’s actually a single valve bugle.  Not being overly familiar with brass instruments, we’d never heard of a single valve bugle, and thinking that many of you may not be either, thought it easier to call it a trumpet lamp.  It’s about the same size as a trumpet but has fewer valves (a trumpet has 3).

Anyway … we found this slightly beaten up vintage instrument in a pile that had been bought from a school marching band.   It makes a great lamp body and we’ve given it a stylish treatment with the addition of a black base and shade.

Size 10″ diameter x 29″ (25cm x 73cm)

Comes with a medium base socket with integrated on/off switch (any bulb up to a 60w equivalent can be used) and 6 feet of black vinyl cord.
