This design of this floor lamp came about by accident – we bought the antique brass floor lamp base and saxophone at different times. The floor lamp base was sitting around in our work room and we were considering what sort of lamp to make with the sax. Undecided, to keep the sax safe while we were thinking about it, we placed the sax upside down on the pole of the floor lamp and … Eureka! It’s a beautifully-engraved vintage saxophone made by Whaley Royce and Co, Toronto. and the flare of the bell is at the perfect angle for a reading lamp. The bottom of the sax is a little bashed-in but that just adds to the vintage charm. The base is weighted to provide stability and felted to protect floors.
